I am having so much fun with this! I was having a bad day and I needed to do something fun. So, I went to AC Moore and got some of the Lions Brand Fisherman Wool and met a woman there who teaches people how to crochet and knit during the day - very cool.
I decided to experiment with colors with small skeins before I do a lot of yarn at once. I want to make an orange and blue scarf for football games.

I first experimented with doing it through the microwave with pink.

I tried a pink and green painted skein - when the colors blended together - it turned a little brown. Whoops!

I then did a gradiated (i think that is the right word) with Black Cherry Red by dipping the color in and then boiling it. I think I like the boiling method better - I think the color takes better to the yarn.

The yarn below ended up being blue/green when it was supposed to be orange and blue striped. I will have to try that method again later.

When I was doing this one, I didn't realize that Kool-Aid Dye would stain my hands. So, now my hands are a lovely shade of green. But, it is wearing off!
That is all about my adventures for now. I am going to dye some more yarn today.
